A Little Levity

We've taken a short break while the huge trash pile we've been building all day is picked up by a crane. Notice the big stuffed animal in the front of the crane. We had a new appreciation for the disaster today since the home owners were present while we cleaned out their house. For the first time during all my days of cleanup work I got to see the real people for whom we do this work. I hugged the woman and told her how sorry I was that she had to go through all of this. She smiled and said that she was alive, her family was well and that the rest could be dealt with. In typical southern style she referred to me as darlin'. "I'm doin' fine darlin,' thanks for askin.'

Our Wonderful Australian Friend, Suzi Borg Olivier (1986)

Dave and I met Suzi in 1986 during our "Thundershower Tour" of New Orleans. Suzi was from Australia and was taking time off from work and things to travel the world. She was passing through New Orleans while Dave and I were playing there and we immediately made a strong connection. She ultimately changed her cross-the-US plans and came to stay with us in Indy for a couple of weeks. This picture was taken at the Dry Dock restaurant. Suzi is holding Bongo the Bear. Interestingly enough, she now owns a dog she loves very much named Bongo. A coincidence? I don't think so!!! We have recently reconnected with Suzi after 25 years. She is doing wonderfully well in the Gold Coast of Australia. We are so glad to be reconnected with this wonderful person and fabulous musician.

Monty the Mime (New Orleans 1986)

This is a picture of our New Orleans nemesis Monty the Mime taken by our very good Aussie friend Suzi Borg Olivier. Monty decided that his miming to our music would be good for all of us. Somehow his miming to "Atlanta's Burnin' Down" just didn't get it. We couldn't get him to go away. He showed up every day. I hate mimes!
