The band played a "hot" show for the Indy Parks lunchtime canal concert series in front of the Indiana Historical Society. The weather was warm and muggy, with a constant chance of rain. No rain appeared, however, and the band played a fun show. Due to illness with drummer Paul Hogan, the band was forced to find a last minute replacement. The solutions was two-fold. Michelle's very talented 14-year-old brother, David, filled in for half of the show. The second half of the show was drummed by one of the best drummers in Indiana, Frank Debortolo, former drummer for Clarian and current drummer for the fabulous band PolkaBoy (www.polkaboy.com). Frank was a former bandmate of Dave Newman's in the late 70s band Clarian. In addition to being a great drummer, Frank is a great guy and agreed to help the band out for this special show. In the future, David will become the drummer for all the songs. The band received a warm reception from the small but energetic crowd. Indy Parks personel indicated that the band might get an invitation to next year's "evening" series on the canal. In addtion they indicated they would work on getting the band a "gig" at the City Market concert series. Keep watching this website for more information. |
